Back to Fury Road
In September 2025, the MadWay Rally team arrived in Namibia — the very land where Mad Max: Fury Road was filmed — to bring their machines back to the terrain that inspired them.
For ten days, a convoy of 20+ participants from around the world pushed across over 2 000 kilometers of desert, gravel and raw wilderness: from Marula Ranch near Windhoek deep into Kamanjab, Doro Nawas, Omaruru, the towering granite peaks of Spitzkoppe — all the way to the Atlantic coast in Swakopmund.
Each participant became the center of their own film
Working alongside 42 Films Namibia — the same crew behind Mad Max: Fury Road — the rally transformed into something beyond a journey. The rally unfolded like a live production: custom-built vehicles moved through the landscape as part of the scene, while a bush plane took the action into the air.
Professional stunt performers executed aerial sequences, jumping from the aircraft and landing within the same terrain where the action was unfolding. It felt as if the world once ruled by Immortan Joe had never truly disappeared.
Namibia revealed itself far beyond the road
From vast desert emptiness to the raw Atlantic coastline, the landscape was constantly shifting. Along the ocean, flamingos gathered in quiet lagoons, while Cape fur seals moved freely across empty beaches — a sharp contrast to the dry, endless terrain just kilometers away.
At the same time, local culture felt very real. People were singing, moving, interacting — something that naturally exists here.
