Two adrenaline junkies from Cyprus
The MadWay Rally is the ultimate expression of adventure — the result of the wildest dreams of Alexey Gubarev and Anna Gubareva, two adrenaline junkies who call the island of Cyprus home.
It all started back in 2016. Alexey stumbled upon a video of fearless Englishmen tackling the frozen expanse of Lake Baikal on sled-towing motorcycles. To Alexey, it was a call to arms — a challenge to test his mettle against the unknown.
2017: a true test of strength and willpower
In 2017, he and Anna organized a race across the ice-covered lake, a true test of strength and willpower, as participants battled the harshest conditions and unpredictable terrain.
But Alexey wasn't satisfied, not after watching Jackie Chan tear across Mongolia and the Gobi Desert in «Skiptrace». He wanted to tackle those sands and dunes, to explore the remoteness of the post-apocalyptic world.
February 2018: MadWay Rally is born
The first-ever cars created for the ultimate rally were tested on the frozen expanse of Lake Baikal in February 2018. With the icy wind whipping around them, Alexey and Anna were fearless road warriors, ready to conquer whatever obstacles lay ahead.
And the MadWay Rally was born: an epic journey through some of the most challenging terrain on the planet — from Lake Baikal to the Altai Mountains and beyond, to Kyrgyzstan and Namibia, pushing limits and conquering new horizons.
Beyond the rally, Alexey Gubarev — co-founder of MadWay Rally together with his wife Anna Gubareva — is a technology entrepreneur. See his profile page about Alexey Gubarev or his personal site gubarev.com.
