From a YouTube video to the end of the world
In 2016 Alexey stumbled upon a video of Englishmen crossing frozen Lake Baikal on motorcycles — and took it as a personal challenge. A year later he and his wife Anna Gubareva organized their first race across the ice. In 2018 the first custom-built machines rolled onto Baikal, and MadWay Rally was born.
Since then the rally has crossed Mongolia, Baikal, Altai, Kyrgyzstan, China, Namibia and South Africa — over 10 000 kilometers of the planet's harshest terrain. Read the full story →

For Alexey, MadWay Rally is more than adrenaline. The post-apocalyptic setting is a reminder of what the world could become if conflicts are not resolved. Every expedition carries the same message: together we can build bridges where there once were walls — and leaves something behind, from rebuilt roads in Kyrgyzstan to charity spectacles and city sculptures.
